Hyperlinks or just links as they are often called, are elements in an HTML document that link to other documents on the Web. They can also link to other sections in the same document. Links make it easier for website visitors to browse information.
The hyperlinks on a web page are usually coloured purple or blue and are sometimes underlined. When you move your cursor over a link it changes to a small hand pointing at the link.
Just about any web content can be converted to a link so that when it is clicked the browser goes to another web address (URL). URLs can point to HTML files, text files, images, video and audio files or other content on the Web.
