Phishing is a common scam where criminals masquerade as reputable businesses and use psychological manipulation and deception to mislead you into taking actions that you wouldn’t normally do. These often include clicking links to fake websites, downloading and installing malicious files and revealing private information like your bank account number or credit card information.
Phishing scams are usually in the form of emails, text messages or phone calls. Social media platforms are also being used more often by scammers.
